True Love Waits or Does It?

This is a thought I wanted to shared that actually slipped my mind. A few nights ago I was talking to a friend about being content in singleness and security despite our marital statuses. One of the things she brought to mind was the idea of the “True Love Waits” rings/ministry. Those three words wreak insecurity. If you wear a ring or hold an idea that says “true love in the form of a person who is waiting for me someday somewhere” what does that say on how you view God. God is true love, and that love, IT DOES NOT WAIT! That love is NOW! Stop saving yourself for a human idea of love and give yourself here and now to the God who is love and so much better than the mere affections of a person. Because of Christ we have that love in ourselves and have it bestowed  us from others presently around us. If we think the love and marriage to a person of the opposite sex is our true love and we will not give/receive love until then, we are sorely mistaken.
